The Lisbon half marathon began on March 17th, 1991 and has been a continual growth of participants and interest alike. Attracting the likes of Mo Farah it has now become one of the leading half marathons in Europe with each starting point on the 25th April bridge (Ponte 25 Abril) running into and around the streets of Lisbon. A must for any runner lover.
Organised by the Council of Cascais, the Festas Do Mar are free concerts set over 10 days in the centre of Cascais by the sea. Every evening there are a plethora of activities, local and cultural food delicacies to set you up for the concerts which attract thousands of people. Just one of Portugal's many public events.
The Cascais Classic Motorshow is the result of history and passion. The program includes an elegance contest which features nearly 70 vehicles between cars and motorcycles, several thematic shows and other recreational activities and a parade usually through the Sintra hills. A great family day out with over 500 classic cars to dream of.

Inaugurated in September 2009, the Casa das Histórias Paula Rego is the result of the combined efforts by both the Cascais Municipal Council and the artist herself, who lived for a long time in Estoril. The collection consists of the donation of all of the artist’s engraving work and a set of drawings by Paula Rego completely unseen before the opening.
